Yiming Sun has studied Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University in Beijing, Communications Engineering at the Technical University of Munich, Technology Management at the Center for Digital Technology and Management in Munich, and Political Science at the Munich School of Political Science. He has also various practical technical experiences in renowned German companies in the industry. He began his work in the area of intellectual property rights protection since the beginning of 2006.

Yiming Sun has received systematical education and training to become German Patent Attorney, including training work at a famous law firm in the area of intellectual property rights in Munich, the studies of law at a university designated by the Association of German Patent Attorneys, as well as training in the German Patent and Trademark Office, the Federal Patent Court and the District Court of Dusseldorf. After having successfully passed the examinations, Yiming Sun became the first German Patent Attorney with Chinese nationality. At the same time he became the youngest German Patent Attorney in the year of his admission. After several years' working experience as German Patent Attorney at a law firm in Munich, he grounded the law firm HUASUN.

Yiming Sun can represent clients in all kinds of procedures before the German Patent and Trademark Office, Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (trademarks and designs) and the Federal Patent Court, including procedures relating to the obtention, maintenance, infringement analysis and revocation of patents, trademarks, utility models and designs. The technical specialization encompasses all fields of electrical engineering, information technology, telecommunication, signal processing and cryptography.
